What is an SIA-licensed security guard?
A security officer who holds a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for the work they do. Under the Private Security Industry Act 2001, contracted officers doing licensable work, such as security guarding or door supervision, must hold the matching SIA licence.
What is the difference between SIA licensed and SIA approved?
The licence belongs to the individual officer. The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is the SIA’s voluntary quality standard for security companies. 2015 Security Services Ltd is an SIA Approved Contractor for Security Guarding and Key Holding, and every officer we deploy holds the licence their role requires.
How can I check a guard’s SIA licence?
Ask for the officer’s licence number and check it on the SIA’s public register of licence holders. Our own approval can be checked on the SIA Register of Approved Contractors.
Are your officers vetted?
Yes. Every officer is screened in line with BS 7858 before day one: identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record disclosure.

How much do security guards cost in London?
The price depends on the hours, the number of officers, the duties and how much notice we have. Night, weekend and bank holiday shifts usually cost more than weekday days. We price each site after a short survey and set the rate out in a written proposal.
